Frequently Asked Questions

Ask us anything.

The questions developers, designers, and homeowners ask most — answered straight.

What exactly is the FlowStone system?

FlowStone is a seamless, fluid-applied resinous flooring system. It's poured directly onto the slab and hand-finished in place, creating one continuous surface with the veined depth of natural stone — no planks, tiles, grout lines, or transitions.

How does FlowStone compare to LVP or polished concrete?

LVP wears, dents, and must be replaced at turnover; polished concrete is limited in color and can crack-telegraph. FlowStone delivers the design range of luxury finishes with the durability of an engineered resinous system — and because it's seamless, there are no edges to lift, chip, or trap moisture. Over a building's life, eliminating replacement cycles typically makes it the lowest total-cost option.

Can FlowStone be installed over my existing floor?

In most cases, yes — over properly prepared concrete substrates. Existing coverings are removed, the slab is ground and repaired, and the system is applied directly. Our team evaluates the substrate as part of every consultation.

How long does installation take, and can residents stay in the building?

Installation is phased to fit your schedule — typically a few days per area including surface prep, pour, and cure. The system is low-odor and VOC compliant, so adjacent spaces generally remain usable. Exact timelines depend on square footage and substrate condition; we provide a schedule with every proposal.

Is every floor really one-of-one?

Yes. Color veins are worked in by hand during the pour, so no two FlowStone floors are identical — your floor is an original within your chosen collection and color family.

How do I clean and maintain a FlowStone floor?

A neutral-pH cleaner and a mop. No waxing, refinishing, buffing, or special products. The surface is stain and scratch resistant and built for high traffic — see our Warranty & Care page for the full guide.

Is FlowStone safe for pets and kids?

Yes — the cured surface is pet friendly, scratch resistant, easy to sanitize, and free of grout lines that trap allergens. Application is low-odor and VOC compliant.

Is FlowStone slippery?

Texture and sheen are tuned during finishing, and slip-resistant additives can be specified for wet areas, ramps, and commercial applications. The system is ADA compliant with zero transitions.

What does FlowStone cost?

Pricing depends on square footage, substrate condition, collection, and location. Because FlowStone eliminates turnover reflooring and ongoing maintenance, most multifamily owners evaluate it on lifecycle cost — where it consistently wins. Contact us for a project-specific estimate.

Which markets and regions do you serve?

We serve multifamily, hospitality, and high-end residential projects, with active installations across Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Texas, and West Virginia — and we travel for the right project.
